Week 12 Picks: Aftermath

2008 November 15
by Nate

I totally forgot to do this last week, so I figured that I should probably get a head start on it this time around, so that I don’t forget again.

That said, I don’t really feel like doing a long, drawn-out rundown of the games I picked and how I picked them and how that compares to the way that they actually played out. I have a nasty sinus headache at the moment and trying to rationalize anything at this point just sounds fuck-awful.

By the way, last week, I was an average 4-3 with my extended slate of games to pick. That made me 27-20 to that point. My 4-1 record this weeks makes it even better, leaving me at 31-21 overall.

There wasn’t much for marquee matchups this weekend, but that didn’t stop good games from popping up across the country. The Oregon State/Cal game, the Minnesota/Wisconsin game, even the Notre Dame/Navy game was worth watching. Friday night, Cincinnati and Louisville played a hell of  game, too.

The next Picks post will be up sometime Wednesday, so I can get it in in time for the MAC showdown between undefeated Ball State and Central Michigan, playing for the #1 spot in the conference. With that, there is a big slate of interesting games on tap next week. Some will have BCS implications (Texas Tech/Oklahoma) and some that are just plain fun (Boise State/Nevada).

No. 14 Ball State at Central Michigan (Wednesday)

Syracuse at Notre Dame

No. 15 Michigan State at No. 8 Penn State

No. 9 Boise State at Nevada

No. 17 Brigham Young at No. 7 Utah

No. 21 Pittsburgh at No. 22 Cincinnati

No. 2 Texas Tech at No. 5 Oklahoma
